The Urban Studies Program at UW-Milwaukee is sponsoring the "Henry Maier State of Milwaukee Summit," May 10, 2007 from 3-7 pm at the Hefter Center (3271 N. Lake Drive). The summit will feature academic and community researchers who will discuss strategies for enhancing Milwaukee's economy. The speakers scheduled are Tom Barrett, Mayor of Milwaukee, Marc Levine, Professor of History and Urban Studies, Tim Sheehy, President of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Richard Longworth, Executive Director of the Global Chicago Center and former foreign correspondent for the Chicago Tribune and author of a forthcoming book on globalization and Midwest cities, and Ryan Horton of the Public Policy Forum. UWM Dean Richard Meadows will also appear.
This event is sponsored by the Urban Studies Program at UW-Milwaukee and co-sponsored by the UW-Milwaukee Center for Economic Development and the Center for Urban Initiatives and Research.
The event is free and open to the public.
